How the Programme works
FastPulse uses Registered Professional Nurses who are trained in disease management and HIV/AIDS education and counselling. A trained translator to assist can be arranged.
The FastPulse HIV/AIDS Education & VCT Programme is usually composed of three phases but can be customised to suit the company requirements.
• The Workshop Phase
Education and awareness are critical components in the management of the spread of HIV and the FastPulse training takes place in the form of workshops. A series of workshop sessions (usually 6) of approximately an hour each are run at monthly intervals over an agreed period of time (6 months).
To ensure participation the size of each workshop consists of less than 30 (thirty) employees per session. These workshops can be scheduled for your company to ensure maximum attendance with minimal workplace disruption.

• The Testing Phase
At the end of the series of workshop sessions, FastPulse will conduct a Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) session. This will occur on-site at pre-determined and mutually convenient times.
The benefits of VCT are primarily increased knowledge of individual HIV status and therefore earlier possible intervention leading to improved control of health and self-empowerment.
• The full VCT session consists of:
- Pre-test counselling
- Rapid testing
- Post-test counselling
