HIV / AIDS Workplace Programme
"Weathering the Storm"
Background and Understanding
What is involved?
To assist organisations in managing this threat, FastPulse has created or can customise a comprehensive HIV/AIDS policy and HIV/AIDS Education and training programme which provide on-site personalised workplace education sessions followed by identification through a confidential VCT programme and the ongoing support of vulnerable employees.
The FastPulse HIV/AIDS Education programme focuses on providing the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes that create a positive impact on the relationships between employees and management and between employees and other employees with a view to creating a caring and informed environment in the workplace.
The FastPulse VCT Programme principally operates at employee level and independently of a medical scheme to determine (voluntarily) the status of each employee, the extent to which the HIV/AIDS problem exists within the workplace and the level of support required by affected employees. All prepared reports are de-indentified to ensure confidentiality.
FastPulse assists employees by identifying and referring those who are infected with, and affected by, HIV/AIDS to the appropriate health care provider/s in the community for treatment. FastPulse can provide ongoing support, where required, such as counselling and compliance monitoring to minimise the risk of opportunistic infections and complications.
